A Happy new year of crafting too you all! I have just signed you for the historical sew fortnightly, i can't wait. It should be a blast. I really recommend that you take a looks and see id its for you! The idea is that every fortnight (ever two weeks) you start a new sewing project. Fun no? http://thedreamstress.com/the-historical-sew-fortnightly-2014/ This will be my first time doing something like this. I think that it will teach me to sew in a timely fashion.

A pin a Day

I hope in this blog, and how ever long i blog... To inspire you as a fellow crafter to get projects or even to start a few new ones. Cute, is he not?? I love how Bright the orange the little dress is. What really gets me us how cute his hair is. I cant wait to have kids to play dress up with them! Happy Crafting!

Show and tell...

This is just a sample of my sewing powers.
This is an 1860's replica of a child's cotton, corded sun bonnet. I Made the pattern of of originals i have found online. The base fabric has little harts all over it. Very excited, it was my first sale!! Next...
This is my first children's dress i made. It is about a size 2. It's made of a orange and yellow semi sheer cotton. It is almost all hand stitched, it also has very thin black velvet ribbon as a decoration. The back has 4 small buttons on the back. This was given to a good friend at her baby shower.
This darling little mint green dress... Is a size 8 girls, as you can see its a yoked bodice, and gauged skirt. It has grow room in the back, along with grow tucks in the skirt. I tried to copy it of an original dress i have found online. Some time i will have to post that dress to show the inspiration!
This is by far my favorite dress to date. Its a wedding ring style printed fabric; red, white and blue. The sleeves were made to me removable.... ( It came to me in the middle of the night!) The under sleeves fabric is made of a black on white velvet swiss dotted muslin. Of course lots of grow room in the hem and back. I just love this dress, i wish i was 10 just so i could wear it! Thank you so much for taking time to look at my work! Like i said before its a passion! Happy crafting!

Getting to know me...

Hello and Good evening, My Name is Alyssa. As you may or may not have seen this is mostly to motivate myself to get my sewing projects done! I am sure a lot of you can relate! Starting in July i started making children's clothing to sell. Since then i have been researching like crazy to know more, it has turned into a passion! I also make clothes for myself and my now husband. It may have turned into a obsession... But we shall see! In addition to children's clothing; i knit, bead, cook, bake, and i am learning how to... Quilt, embroider and i am sure much much much more! I also enjoy a challenge, it is my one weakness... Happy crafting!
